320 hydraulic pump

I hooked up wood splitter to 320. Used line from pump to 3 point, in from pump, out to 3 point. Same place as loader hooks to my 430 and have used 430 on wood splitter. Was just moving ram back and forth no wood being split, hydraulic pump developed a crack in center section. did I do it or was it a weak spot in pump. Has done fine on 3 point before. Also what pumps will fit? is it the smae as M or 40?
Thanks for any help

(quoted from post at 06:51:57 11/17/12) Either no relief valve in circuit, relief valve pressure too high or used a closed Center valve.

But he said that the splitter worked fine on his 430, so it really can't be an incorrect splitter valve config, right?

He has a loader on the tractor . Odds are the connection is
made down stream of the loader valve and is protected by the
relief in the loader valve.

Been thinking more about this. 430 has loader so wood splitter vaove would be down stream of loader valve. On 320 until log splittervalve was moved it would be against relief valve in 3 pt housing but when splitter valve was activated the only relief valve would be in splitter valve, is that correct? Is center section crack what usually results from pump trying to pum too much pressure?
