in union county ohio, north west of columbus. i only need the disks bur the whole unit would be helpful. i know that the part that is not attached to the farme that is bolted on with bolts with the grease zerks on them could probely be interchanged bettween the 494 and 494A.

You are very close to me in southeast Auglaize county. The boxes for my 494A are shot so would never be using the openers again so would sell the complete units.

Would have to check just what I do have, set laying on a parts wagon is off the 494A and have the grease type bearings in them. Was thinking I had a set for each planter but none are now on a planter and the 494A that is on 30" rows has not been used for about 8 years and the 494 on 40" rows for several years longer. The grease type mount on a different casting than the greaseless type. Do you have the casting for the blades to mount on?

Unless he had the openers and just needs new blades the only place to get the complete units is to buy a planter with them on or find the parts in a parts yard.Places like Shoup would never have the complete attachment. They could be gotten with either a grease type bearing or a greasless type. And with the shoe openers of a 494 you can put parts from a 494A over and make them work or the other way around. Can't remember for sure if I have them on both the 494 and 494A or not as they have not been used for years setting in the weeds. Mke, Where are you located? And just what all of the parts do you need?

Is it a straight 494 or a 494A planter, entirely different setup. Have disks on my planters and no longer farming, need to get rid of planters.
