820 2 cyl Diesel

A friend of mine is trying to pull the head off of an 820, has all the nuts off of the studs, hammered, yanked and pushed and it won't break loose. The last time I ever messed with a 2 cyl diesel was at a junk yard when I was a youth. Were there bolts up from the bottom, thru the frame, or does he simply have to get "physical" with it?

10 total nuts, 8 short, two tall. Most times you need to bump the manifold with a wood fence post, and it will slowly jiggle off. A testimony to the lead washers packing down and around the studs. He can also download the free parts book at jdparts.com and see for himself.

Thanks F-I-T.
Have a retired aircraft A&P helping one of his buddys with his 820. He called me asking, I couldn't remember, so I then posted his question.

dont forget the four nuts and lock washers inside the inj pump area remove cover over the pumps and look there are four studs that face into the block
