started tractor today trans oil full it didnt work right, right away warm here today. while runen there was no oil on dipstick i looked in fill hole no oil sprayen around at all. that filter bypass valve do you have drain trans befor removeing it and then what to look for broken spring blowen o-ring ? thanks

I"m not Jim,, but no you don"t need to drain the oil it"s on the right side under the floor board, remove the floor board and the cap is there requiring an 11/4 wrench, pull it out and take note of how it is in there(you can put them in backward),look for it to be stuck open..

I'm glad you answered the question because I couldn't remember if trans required draining to check filter relief valve.

If you're referring to trans dipstick then trans/hyd oil level is low.
