4320 Trans temp gauge?

Why do the Waterloo 4320's have a trans temp gauge? Since there were no powershifts, I don't see the need. I just use mine for mowing and using a loader, so it never moves off cold, but why does it have that?

Hydraulic motors were coming into use when these tractors were built. Continuous duty on a hydraulic motor will heat up the transmission oil quickly. The gauge helps monitor that. Mike
