I am in the process of replacing the front idlers on my 40C and the seals are bad. John Deere wants $214.33 each for the AM2011T seal. That would be $857.32 for 4 seals. About 6 years ago I saw a conversion kit for these that was about $50. I have looked at the situation and for that kind of money, I may try machining my own. I do have a lathe and a 30mm bore seal will fit the shaft with just a little machine work.
What is everyone doing to replace these seals when they go bad?
