JD 7520 transmission rebuild cost

I've tried a few things to fix the overheating transmission problem in my 1975 7520 with no results. I'm planning to talk to my local jd dealer about finding the problem and fixing it. I just don't have the time or knowledge of these to fix it. My question is what could I expect to spend on this rebuild. I have been shocked at the dealership before so I would like to prepare for this. What do you guys think it will run ballpark?
Thanks

What kind of temp are you seeing? a temp of 100* over outside temp is normal. Is the oil cooler clean ? An internal high pressure oil leak will cause oil to get really hot. Slipping fan belts due to worn out pulleys etc. Any bearing problems would have other symptons by now.

I"m with Don, the problem needs to be identifyed first,,a good trouble shooting is needed and with this one it is tuff to do from a distance, we can come up with all kinds of "Maybe"s" on here, but some one that can walk up to it with exsperiance following a good chain of thought will save you a lot of money, "Before" going into it...
