4430 problems, metal shavings

Its a quad shift, the power steering doesn't turn like it should. The 2 pt hitch sometimes comes up about half way then stops, then after a few seconds it will continue going up real slow. The hydraulic outlets work prefect though. Drained the hydraulic oil and there are a lot of metal shavings in it. These metal shavings are really really fine, no big chunks or anything.
So were are the metal shavings coming from?

Been thru this on a 4430 and a 4320. I'll bet your brakes are worn out and the shavings are from the pads grinding on the disk. Don't drive it except to the shop, if it's close.

Your brakes will work fine,as they continue to eat themselves up, if that is your problem. I pull a lot of final drives just to check,,it"s worth the effort to know...

Yep brakes were just fine. Maybe a bit more grabby but stopped and held good.
