Is there a typical reason why the clutch is jerky when I engage it on my 830? snaps in and out okay, just isnt smooth when you engage it. Bill

I have found dust from the disk and rust is the cause of most jerky clutches. When we used the tractors daily it was not as much a problum as it is now that they are only used sometimes.

could be right, doesnt get a lot of use, sat for over 10 years while we got around to replacing a bad radiator. Bill

Too much crankshaft end play will make a clutch very jerky on a two cylinder. Crankshaft end play is supposed to be .005 - .010 of an inch.
