W111 Power Unit Oil Pressure Indicator

How does this type oil pressure indicator work? I have had GP's where the peg raises straight up when you have oil pressure, but it doesn't look like there is room for this one to come up any. It has some sort of low or no oil pressure kill with a wire attached to the mag. I want to make sure I have oil pressure when I attempt to start it. Any help would be appreciated. There is an 1/8 pipe plug at the base that I could hook a pressure guage up to. Thanks, Buddy Woodon

I would hook that gauge up on the start up to see that you have good oil pressure then remove it if it checks out ok!

That piece with the spring is bent. it should b horizontal. yes there is a wire that attaches to the mag to kill it. I could send u a pic of my W if u want to see it correctly.
