Fired up my 4020 today after the change to the combine engine. The combine had sat outside for 10 years, so hearing it run was a relief. Only had 2025 hours on it, and it runs great. The pic is the bushing I made to change over from the CBC pump. I made it with a couple thou interference fit, and drove it in the block. Don't think it would ever move, but I drilled a 3/16 hole just above the tach drive and drove in a roll pin just to be safe. Got a few little details to clean up, but it looks like this swap is a success. She's a clean, straight tractor with good rubber, and I have less than $3000 in it at this point. Hopefully it will be a good one.

Toolz, since you changed the cbc pump to the DB what are you going to do with the CBC pump and lines? IF you would sell them I would like to buy them for parts for the 2 CBC pumps I have on 4020's.

Thanks

Zach

Hard to find a $3000 4020.Just shows what can be accomplished if you are willing to do some work and have the ability to do it yourself.I have seen many tired tractor that the owner spends more than they are worth usually at a JD shop that charges $80+ per hour.

Yes it's tuff to come out ahead fixing up a worn out tractor with todays high priced parts, the local dealers around here are at $90 per hour now(these shiny new buildings with all the new trucks to go with them are expensive)..

Yes i can help you, I have done several of them. If you are using the non-turboed 404 (4230 style engine) that is the best choice, tell me more, is the 4020 a sychro or power shift
