1931 john deere GP

I have a 1931 john deere GP and at the end of the serial# it has an A. What does this mean? I got research done by Two cylinder and they don,t know either.

There were some updates done by Deere to it at one time. A friend of mine has one that has the same A after the serial number. Kellers also has one. The did some upgrades to the intake and air cleaners on some of the older machines and apparently that was how they kept track of the machines that got them.

Serial # 225129 A
Got to find the research info from two cylinder.
Will post it soon as soon as i find it.
Any thing else about this tractor

It wasnt experimental parts, they were upgrades to the original equipment. One i remember in particular was a crankcase breather tube that went into the intake.

Heres a couple pix.

Your "GP" had the crankcase breather assembly that you show, from the factory because it is a 6" bore tractor. It may have some other updated features that could be very evident or they may also be internal. Please post some more pictures of your tractor as the serial number is just prior to a major serial number break at 226402.
