John Deere M front-end shimmy

The front wheels on my John Deere M start to shimmy and almost jump when I travel as fast as it will go in 3rd gear (top speed). I had the tie rod ends replaced a few years ago. Is their something else that could be causing the problem. Sure could use some suggestions.

Inner and outer tie rod ends need to be tight. Also you might check wheel bearings and make sure nut bolt is tight on top of spindle. Otherwise may be in steering gear box. If you tighten down on adjusting bolt on top of steering gear, the small screw type bolt with jam nut on it, that may help but if you tighten too much will make it hard steering.

Steering box there are two pins that run on the steering gear. These wear flat and at road gear can make things jumpy. The steering gear itself can also wear. Pins are cheap and easy to replace. You can get the pins from eBay, Dave Cook, Sharps tractor and I think JD has them but they are pricey. This really helped by MT at road speed but still didn't quite fix the problem entirely.

Toe in, wheel bearings, spindle bearings, tie rods, Y, upper and lower steering shaft bushings, worm bearings, guide pin and woodruff key. You'll just have to check for play all along the steering route. If you have wheel weight's you're never gonna get rid of the shakes at high speed.
