does anyone know which model jd van brunt drill was a double run drill, with no sliding speed gears ,just the gears you reversed for setting seed drive speed? I stopped and looked at one in good shape at lunch but couldnt find a model #,and owner didnt know. Its grain only, single disc openers on (i believe) 7" centers, end wheel with rubber. mechanical lift, with cranks to set depth. everything seemed to be there and working, but the seed planting chart is gone,so i want to see if i can find a manual for it before i purchase it. Dont really need it but the price is right and it would save me dragging one around so much. |

| JDparts.com has parts schematics. I will guess it's one of these models but not the FB-B as it's a fertilizer drill and this is the only model that I'm familiar with out of that listing.
parts catalog #822 - B-A, B-B, DF-B, DR-A, DR-B, FB-B End Wheel Grain Drills |

It's not a model "B" as the grain box and lids on all model "B"s were galvanized. Can you post a photo?? |

| all green box, frame etc. wheels ( which may have been replaced),and lids yellow. flat lids if that helps any. I am thinking it may be a "B" model, but as far as i know those were fluted feed only.I dont recall ever seeing one that didnt have the five sliding gears on a double run drill. but this one just has the gears that you switch for fast or slow speed.other wise it looks like just a plain old jd drill. |
