How big of a job is it to replace the crankshaft oil seal that is responsible for allowing crankcase oil to get into the transmission? Mine is pumping about a one quart per hour. |

Don't forget that those mains have a factory spec of .0055"-.0075" clearance, so they can feel pretty sloppy even when they are correct. |

| This probably does not help you - but my 730 D is doing the same. There is excessive play in the left hand main so I suspect that bearing wear and crank movement might be contributing to the seal failiure. I plan to take the crack out and grind if necessary. My dilema is sould I consider a re-bore whist the engine is apart? I am also tempted to put 830 valves in and a hotter cam. |
