I found a 10-20 with no engine. It was a gas but someone took the engine apart and somewhere all of the parts were lost or thrown over the years. All that is left is the block, crank, and head. Is there some other engine I could find that would fit in it. Like a combine engine or some other 3 cylinder that would fit. The tractor is otherwise in excellent shape, nice tires, tin, 3 point, etc. I would like to go back with diesel or is gas better in this model of tractor. I would of course need all components, flywheel, starter, etc. Or is this going to be too expensive to put together? |

Actually you shouldn"t have any trouble finding a diesel engine to put in it , those engines were used in many units, such as pumps and generators, I would call a few salvage yards and inquire. Check back and let us know what you come up with and I"ll help you put it in...

JD 3300 combines used 4 cylinder 219CID diesel engines like the 2030 tractor. Would a JD 300 industrial tractor use a 3 cylinder engine?

Unless you can find an engine or another tractor with ailments other than engine you'll be in it deep. Wait and see if others know about other engines, I would suspect most combines had bigger engines, don't know what they made for swatters or self propelled haybines/balers or sprayers back then.

Thanks for all the thoughts. I was afraid that an engine might be more than the tractor was worth. Any junk tractor I find will probably have engine issues anyway...but I will keep looking.
