My 630 PS was leaking bad around the cork washer but otherwise worked fine. I replaced the cork, new retainer ring, all new o-rings and packings and steering vane o-rings. All leakage was stopped. BUT- now the steering works fine for a while (about a mile or so)then gradualy fails. Acts like the fluid is being pumped where it dosn"t belong or is building up pressure somewhere. After it sits over night it does the same thing,Works then fails.I re-checked the o-ring/vane status, ran with filler cap off to chech for excess pressure,Double checked fluid level. Didn"t mess with pump OR steering valve. Works fine for a while then quits, is worse than non PS, Any help would be great, Thanks |

| | Bud, What type of oil are you using? The John Deere PS oil for two cylinder tractors is what you need. It's possible another type of oil is thinning down when warm and you lose steering assist. Another idea, maybe the relief valve is sticking open or has a broken spring. Larry |
