Will the 5-1 powerblock fit in a 39 B? I know they were intended for the 41"s but what is the difference? I know i"ll have to use the 41 style head, how hard is it to put the pressurized oiling system in the older b"s? I have a 41 parts tractor that should have everything i need but he rear end is junk, and me and my dad are kinda toying with the idea of building our 39 into a puller...Thanks Ryan |

| | Ryan, the 5-1 will fit in the 39. The crankcase pattern is the same from 39-52. The block"s 1/2" shorter on the PB than the 39, so your water pipes and throttle linkage and intake/exhaust will be off by 1/2". You could either keep the oiling system the same and adjust as needed or tap into one of the pressure lines and get it to the crankcase where it bolts to the block. Drill a hole and put a fittiing in there and viola, oil pressure to the head. Any head from 41-52 will work. |

| what i mean by pressurized oiling, is how the oil gets to the rocker arms, on the 39 and 40 it just kinda gets "dripped", while the 41's and up actually had a pressure line sending oil up there. |

| Can't help much question #1 but that tractor should already have a pressurized oil system unless I am missing something.
If your going to make a puller don't stop at a powerblock, just go all the way and get a big crank and the supporting mods as well. |
