I have found a whale of a good product that WILL seal and stay in place that you may want to get for repairs...
Goes on like Furnace Cement and sets-up harder than Flint..just clean off all the carbon and put it on, let it set a while and it WILL stay where you put it..! ThermoSteel
Found it at AutoZone , I think..

| Sounds like a good product. This is a weak point on old two cylinders. I always resurface the head and manifold any time I have one apart.

That is my point...!! Until you can have the time, this will eliminate the exhaust leak and keep further erosion from happening..and keep water out, too.. Not expensive and available over the counter.. Ron..
