Is it normal for the rear end in a 1010 JD tractor to be somewhat noisy. Kind of sounds like an old A going down the road.

| Dissemble, clean, inspect, install new bearings, set clearances and refill with a yellow metal friendly lube.
The unsuppported shaft and gear are getting ready to make an even louder noise.
