Prior to 1971 factory canopies had a textured paint on the underside. In 1971 the part # was changed and they deleted the rear brackets which held the rear warning lights. My question is: did the canopies still have the textured paint on the underside for 1971 & 1972.

Thanks Jim,I was not sure but the black material does look nice.I had a tractor that came with a new old stock canopy and was told there was very few if any left. The Roll_Guard was around $650 but the canopy was well over $1000 according to seller. They look nice and provide shade but also have some extra noise. The after market ones are made well just not original just like fenders.

Larry

A lot of water has run under the bridge but I think later model roll-gard canopies came from factory with a black insulation on the underside of the canopy. I don't remember adding the insulation to canopy during PDI.

There is a picture on this forum about getting a 4520 to start that shows the flasher brackets and also front and rear lights.

I have a related question. I believe 1969 and 1970 canopies used the Stolper cab tops which were tapered from rear to front. Did 1971 and 1972 canopies used the Hinson cab tops which did not taper? Thanks.

Far North, Stolper style was used on 71/72s.That style was made before the cabs came out and they simply enclosed it.There have been many after market ones that look the same but dont have places for lights or flashers, some generic Rollbars dont have place for fenders to mount. They are usually rough underneath and many put foam adhesive insulation to keep noise down some. Some say it came from factory I think it was probably dealer or custumer installed
