Has anyone done this got a 925 disk mower with flails and we are thinking about mowing corn stalks to bale would this be hard on it? I have seen some people do it but i was wondering if it would be hard on it we are gonna bale them up with a 535 w/net wrap |

| I've tried it both ways, and Jim's way is how I usually do it. I prefer not to bale stalks, but I am sure this year more people will do it. I probably won't bale any, as we had excellent ryegrass this spring, and cut more corn silage than ever. Still have some sorghum to chop, and a little double crop sudan coming along behind the corn silage. |

| We use our NH 411 with rolls and I would think that flails would stand up better than rolls.Sometimes you have to use what you have and it does work good.In 200 bu corn we do not rake just bale the 3 rows in the windrow. This year it will take 12 rows to equal 3 due to dry weather. |

| To my notion cutting/baling Corn or Milo stalks is very hard on hay equipment of all kinds. I think it really wears on rd baler belts. Down here farmers shred stalks with a bat wing mower with a wheel rake hitched to the mower. |
