The July issue of Green Mag. featured model is the 50. On page 19 is a picture of a 50 L.P. The caption under the pic. say's "This is a prototype 50. Production tractors had the "John Deere" decal on the side of the LP tank". The tractor in the pic has the decal on the side cover below the tank. I own a 50 L.P. that i belive has org. paint and decals. The "John Deere" on mine is below the tank as shown in the Green Mag. photo. Any info on this would be appreciated. I wonder if John Deere kept serial numbers of prototype or preproduction tractors? |

| On production tractors, the John Deere went below the tank. The reason for this is the seam weld on the tank would have been in the decal. On 60 and 70 tractors, the tank was longer and there was more room for the JOHN DEERE to fit |
