Have not visited here for a long time! We have a running/using 420U. Found one recently in pieces/parts, same year and specs as ours. Owner bought it (running, straight sheet metal) at an auction and decided it would be a good retirement restoration project. He tore it all apart, cleaned parts up, then looked at the pile and decided he must have lost his mind! It will not get put back together whole here; nobody has time. Trying to decide whether to keep it for spare parts? sell parts? or market it as a project tractor. Your thoughts? Thanks.

| As the owner of a 420U, I think it is one of the handiest versions to have a a user. I use mine almost every day. It has a loader on the front and I have several implements for the 3 point. The lower center of gravity is good and the extra length is nice with the loader. I would hate to see a good tractor parted out. It will cost some money to put it back together (gaskets, bearings, etc.) but you will have a nice machine when you get done.

| Totally agree with you CPeter -- good tractor. We
had a loader on our "user" but it was way too heavy
for it, and we dumped it. I think "30" loader?
Don't remember now. We are early baby-boomers and
it seems we always have more to do than we have time
to do, so restoration on this won't happen with us.
