Topic: jd 1050 clutch stuck from sitting

Ive got a mid 80s 1050 I bought cheap due to the clutch was set up from sitting to long with out the petal being blocked down . Before I split it does anyone know a way to free it up ? Thanks |

That era JD tractors built in Japan have a history of the clutch plate sticking.Utilizing a remote starter switch get tractor out in the open,start it in gear and stomp each brake pedal independently while holding clutch pedal down. This method has been used in the past but exercise "EXTREME CAUTION" After clutch gets unstuck then block pedal down if tractor is to set very long.

| I used that method with success on an 850. I read about it here on the 8N board. Get them going fast and hang on tight. Only works with one brake at a time not both. Must send a shock wave up the drive train ? |
