New Holland 310,273,276 or JD 327 or 336? all with throwers. Which is the better way to go? |

| JD eliminated the difficult timing that was associated with the 14T,214,24T & 224 balers when they introduced the 336/346. If anyone knows anything about the operation of a sq baler the later model JD balers are a snap to time. As I stated only 2 chains to get out of time and I've never seen the bevel gears on later JD balers jump time. |

| I would go with either the 327 or 336 JD over the NH models you listed. Those are all older balers and even though there are plenty around parts are going to be harder to find. I have used a 336JD, 310NH and would take the JD any day over the 310. It made a nicer bale in my mind that could stand up to a kicker. The 310 I worked behind on a bale wagon when I was younger. It had a kicker but couldn't get a good tight bale no matter what we did and the kicker a lot of times would loosen the bale up pretty good. If you wanted to look at more comparable NH balers look at the 311, 315, 316. Those are more the age of the 336 JD. I have a friend with a NH 316 and it has been a good baler for him. |

| Dad had a new NH 273 with thrower and latter a 336.The 336 makes a more square bale and we liked the thrower much better than the NH.The auger feed on the 336 is much simpler than the finger system used on NH.The rest of the baler is built heavier than the NH as well. You rarely see the knotters rusted off a 336 but I have seen lots of NH's that way. Most of the knotter parts are used on the brand new Deere balers today. |

| How close is the nearest JD/NH dealers? Having owned both NH and JD balers I would choose JD. Really like the 336. I don't know much about the throwers though. |

| JD 336/346 and later balers are easier to time and have less chains(only 2 chains) to worry with than a NH.

| If it was me I would go with one of the New Holland ones they are a lot easier to work on if and when something goes wrong or at least that is what I have found over the year when I had the JD14T an this NH271. Timing the JD was a night mare but the 271 a walk in the park |

| I don't believe the 14t was a choice. |

| No but it is what the others are based on so they in turn have some of the same things and adjustments as it did have. Sorry any ,machine is just an improved machine from the past. So what is your point other then to maybe try to be well????????? |
