I have a ROPS on one of my John Deere tractors, and the sound dampening pad has all but fallen out. I checked with John Deere, and the pad is now obsolete. The John Deere part number is R47197. I'm guessing the pad was also used on other manufacturers ROPS as well, under different part numbers. I would like to replace the pad. Could someone share some idea's on where I might find some old stock, or if anyone makes aftermarket pads? Thanks for your help.

Go to McMaster-Carr (mcmaster.com). They are an industrial supplier of materials like Grainger. They have rubber in all kinds of shapes and sizes and you may be able to find the kind you need to fabricate the part.

K&M offers bulk foam 1" thick at a good price. You can get unfaced or any of the uphostery coverings they offer. It would involve some cutting and fitting though.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm wondering if anyone knows of someone, or a company that makes the aftermarket foam parts? I'm sure kits are available for replacing the foam inside of the older cab tractors. That's what makes me think it's possible that someone also makes the foam pad for under the ROPS.
