Got an LA and the mag has no spark, used an aux coil so I know the points and cap are good just the coil part of the mag appears bad, or could it be grounded like the IH mags? Any place I can go to see how to rebuild it?

You can test it for an open circuit or a ground with an ohm meter. Disconnect the wire to the points and test wire to ground and wire to cap terminal. Ron Mn.

I used to have an LI with hyd and side mount mower from Ill highway. I do know some special adaptions were made, However I am at a loss about the popper part. Was this some special attachment.

Check or replace the condenser before going any further.

Replace the condenser, make sure you have solid core spark plug wires, and make sure the "shut off button" is NOT bent to touch the mag all the time. This is on the side of the mag and usually has a red or black plastic button on a thin piece of metal. This will ground it out and keep it from starting. My LA had a homemade on off switch that did not work often which also could cause this problem.
