I am looking for a tricycle font end for a 4430. I could use either the two line or the four line steering motor. Has anyone purchased or know how much I would expect to pay for one. I have no idea and dont want to overpay for one if I can even find one. Thanks for any input

I've had about a half dozen of them.

As stated the early ones had 2 lines, the later 4.
4030s and 4230s use the same casting for the 2 and 4 line motors. The 4 line one is for the later 4030, 4230 and 4040 tractors. I have both styles in tractors right now.

They will bolt into a 4430 but the frame rails are "taller" and leaves a good inch of gap on the bottom side. The 4430 motors will go into the 40 and 42 but you have to cut the bottom of the rails out. Bolt holes are the same. I've only known of and seen one 4430 narrow front with the correct front pedestal in it. A few 4040s and the most common are the 2 line 4030/4230 motors.

I don't think that they made a "convertible" front end for the new style steering,,,but I am not sure... the early 42's and 44's had the option, but you need to change the complete steer motor to make it happen...
