I just finished with this exact problem on my 2010. The bearing that you get new (AT17464) does not fit the old bearing carrier (T17027). John Deere now wants people to buy the new part # AT21198. What I have discovered is that AT21198 is just a remachined T17027 that allows the new throwout bearing AT17464 to fit.
I took my T17027 bearing carrier to a local machine shop and showed them the bearing and had them turn down the second "lip" on the bearing carrier to a "press fit" of the new bearing. Now, I can use the newer style throwout bearing on my old throwout bearing carrier. |

| I replaced the bearing carrier on my 2010 several years back. Although I"ve since sold the tractor, I still have the old bearing carrier, if anyone needs one. I don"t think there is anything wrong with it. Free |

| I had a similar problem on a 2030. No bearing company makes the original throwout bearing anymore. The bearing Deere replaced it with has a larger inside diameter so I had to buy the new carrier. There is no grease hole or fitting on the new carrier. When I asked them at Deere, why, they told me nobody greases them so they stopped making them greasable. |
