Hi Guys, I have a 1960 JD 3010 gas. The SCV in the picture seems to have a slow leak and eventually drips hydraulic oil onto the exhaust manifold which then smokes, stinks, etc. I have the hood off and thought I should get this taken care of. I"m not inclined to try this myself, but I"m looking for guidance on how to start. Should I pull the valve off the tractor and take it somewhere? Is it easy to remove? Do I need to drain the hydraulic fluid? Any gotchas, etc? Thanks. Jason |

First before you try to re-install hood if you'll remove the metal piece in the center with the rubber stuck on the curved part it will be much easier to get hood back on the tractor.
To repair the hyd leak the valve will require removal and dis-assembly and sealing rings installed on the end plate(parts key #27) or better yet a repair kit(AR41037) installed.

| | Thanks Jim. It looks pretty simple to remove the SCV, even for an amateur like me. Any gotchas? Thanks again. Jason |
