I'm selling a radiator from a 1946 JD A on eBay, but have never shipped something freight before. Could someone explain exactly how to do it, especially on which shipping companies are out there to use etc? I sure appreciate the help.

I just did a quick quote with Greyhound and it would have been almost exactly the same price as UPS, except you have to take it to a town with a bus terminal, and pick up from one if they don't have one in the town you're shipping to. Thanks for the info on it, I didn't realize they did it.

I've found fedex to be a lot cheaper than ups.I
use osb board to box stuff up.The box itself can add several dollars to the shipping cost, so weigh everything before quoting a price.

UPS is very good. Check their policy in regard to size and weight of the packed box. If the box is oversize or overweight for UPS to handle you can ship via common carrier (truck). Most trucking companies have terminals in major metropolitan areas where you can drop off items for outbound shipment, either prepaid or COD. Again check their policy. In either case the better you pack the box the better chance you have of having it delivered undamaged. I think a radiator should be within UPS regulations.

I work for a guy that ships old tractor parts all over the world. UPS is fussy and expensive but good. Box it really good, because forklifts can do a lot of damage. Dave
