Hi all.My brother and I recently pulled a 2020 out of our dad"s shed and are trying to get it working again. After putting in a new coil, condenser, points, plugs and a battery, we got it started. It ran rough, so we drained and refilled the tank with fresh gas. We got it home and I set the timing.I went through the lines and found no restrictions to gas flow. I have the JD service manual for it as well. It"s a struggle to get it started, but runs smoothly once the RPMs reach ~1000 idle, but below that it starts oscillating and backfiring. I uploaded a video of it to YouTube. Has anyone had this happen to them, or have any ideas of what/where I should check next? Thanks a lot. I don"t usually post, but I"ve learned a lot from everyone"s posts. |

| Check for a vaccuum leak. This would account for your hard starting and rough idle. Look especially close at your intake gaskets. Good luck! |
