Checked the mag. No fire. Ill take it in when I get my SS check. I had the top wire on the R side. Is that right.?

How did you get it to "pop" once if there is no fire from the mag?? Try cleaning the points yourself with a dollar bill between the closed points. Open the petcock on the flywheel side and bring it up to compression stroke, check the flywheel mark for left hand spark mark then check position of the mag rotor and put wire in that position. Do you have a manual I&T or other for it?

Does it matter which way the mag is turned in mounting it as to its running. Ill check closer tomorrow as its dark now, BUT I think I got it different than my 50 B I was working on a while ago. I can see I got the wires wrong.

Getting it to fire once and then no spark is a sign of a bad condenser in the mag. Put in a new condenser and give it a try. With the left hand impulse mark on the flywheel lined up and the left Piston (#1) TDC, the lug for the mag should be horizontal.
