I bought this with some junk at an auction. Do not know what it is for. Any ideas?

This is the part used on the 490 planter that disengages the seed drive. May be used in other places also.

Thanks, I bought a couple of real nice safe fertilizer boxes at the same sale. I believe they belong to a 490. There was not a planter in sight or in the junk pile.

Actually on a 290 planter it engages the fertilizer drives. Russ

You guys have it all wrong. That is the first official John Deere church key/beer opener. It is used when the repair or project at hand does not go as planned. It can also be used after a project has ended to open a cold beverage as well.

Those fertilizer boxes are for a 290, not the newer 490. Old timers disease struck again.
