Little M runs

Well the engine is reinstalled & then I threw
in the new pistons, spent all day saturday
tinkering, fixing & install all the pieces &
parts. Cranked it over till the oil pressure
came up, as it cranked turned the igntion on
& full choke, Popped right off.. Let it run
for about 2 hours, while I tinkerd, put tools
away, installed more pieces & parts. I dies
everyonce in awhile so I gotta take the carb
back off & clean it out, so far it sounds good
except for the occasional stumble. I can tap
the carb or wiggle the adjustment screws & it
smooths back out. All new fluids in every
compartment, rewired complete machine,
installed used ampmeter that isn"t registering
even tho I know the gennie is charging. Looks
like it will require a New PTO seal?? Checked
all the gears, seems quiet, Brakes stops pretty
good.. Hydraullic stays up all nite.. Next is
the rear tires & wheels since I can see inner
tube between every tread bar, I can"t believe
they are still up? I promise there will be
pictures someday? LOL

Have a Great day!

While sitting and idling the Amp gauge does not register much at all. My MT is the same exact way. If you turn on the lights it will jump up. Hi gennie charge is for idling, low gennie charge is for when working the tractor. Even on Hi charge it doesn't move the needle very much I have found with mine.

PTO seal is available from Deere but is a different part number from AM253T. I just bought them for my MT, comes in a pack of 2, and is now AL56820. The gasket for the PTO cover is also a different number now as well, R239648.

Snow plows are worth their weight in gold it seems. I just today did my PTO seal. Remember if you have the belt pulley that needs to come off as well to get the rear cover off. Don't forget the new gasket for the rear pulley in that case like I did. I was able to re-use my old one. Also the tranny oil is the same as the rear end. Drain is on the clutch side, fill on the brake side. Mine had a milk shake type mix in it and some sludge. I found straight 90 weight at Napa in gallon jugs. It took 1 and a half jugs to fill her up. Pretty easy job though. Took me about 3 hours but I cleaned everything good and chased the threads on all bolts. I also use a bit of gasket sealer, either Indian Head or John Deere high tack gasket sealer.
