4020 SCV rebuild

I have to rebuild the control valve on my late model 4020. I would like to get specs and any suggestions on how its done properly. Thanks

the kits that i have bought to convert to pioneer all came with instructions in the box. other wise the reverse of how it came apart. hope that helps

Changing to Pioneer ends doesn't repair the valve.
Now to answer the question. The best source for info is a 4020 service manual. And actually the I&T manuals covers the SCV very well. The problem you will have on rebuilding the SCV yourself is, you likely dont' have the neccesary special tool to do the job especially if the seats need ground, and usually they do need reground.

Thanks for the info. I was considering buying a manual but wondered if it would cover the scv in enough detail to do the job.

What special tool is required? Are there any other special tools I would require to set the valve properly or is it pretty much a straight forward procedure once the gind is done?

It may be possible to have the dealership do the grinding and I can take care of the rest. Would hopefully save myself a few hundred dollars..
