Thanks to everyone who helped me with my '35 B that had the low compression. I had the day off today so I went out and pulled the plugs and put a good amount of oil in the cylinders and made sure to get oil on the top of the cylinders. Turned on the gas, put it at half throttle, choke on turned it over a couple of times and it made a real pop, turned choke off and on the next crank away it went!!!! I filled up the radiator and let it run for about 1/2 hour to get the oil flowing through everything again so hopefully hand starting will be easier next time. Thanks again John T, Clooney, Mike A & everyone else that helped me on this. Now I need to get the hood off, (see my next post).

Wayne-I'm curious as to how much rehab. you had to do on your 35 B. I have one in the shop that I'm just starting to look at-motor stuck-rear spoke wheels shot-but all there-very low serial number-less than 4000. Any suggestions?

Hi Max,
I got really lucky. I really didn't have to do much rehab other than finding a method to increase the compression in the cylinders after the tractor had set for a few years without running. Mine was always stored in a shed and looks like it was taken very good care of by the previous owner. I had to pay a little more for it than average but to get it running it was just a matter of getting a refurbished carb, new plugs and then putting oil in the cylinders to increase the compression enough so that it would start (so I think it was worth it). My suggestions are take your time and if you are not sure of anything just ask the guys like Clooney, John T. and all the rest because they have so much knowledge I don't think there is anything on one of these tractors they coulnd't tell me how to fix. Good luck with your B. Keep us posted. Clooney was right, that feeling you get when one of these starts is great! Wayne
