Any idea whether the crankshaft out of an unstyled 38 B will fit a 39 styled B?

Believe they are the same TRACTOR, just that now you have to be careful you don't bang the sheet METAL!!!!!!!!!!

Check if the forging # is the same.

The part number for the unstyled B crankshaft is B114R (up to serial number 59999)

Crank from serial number 60000 to 95999 is B1303R. Which I think would cover the 1939 B.

So they are different.

The rods and main bearing assembles for the two cranks are the same. The block is different and the pistons are different as is the main case.

Bottom line is that the unstyled B crank may fit the rods and mains , but I think the throw on the crank may be shorter.

The stroke on a unstyled is 5 1/4", the 39 has a 5 1/2" stroke, thus you will lose 1/4" of stroke, compression, and power.
