Sump Screen location on a 5300.

I had someone on this forum tell me that my sump screen may have to be cleaned out. Trying to fix my neighbors 1996 5300 with jumpy/jerky steering. I changed the canister filter, but that didn't fix it. There is a new steering valve in a box that I should probably replace, but I was told to check the sump screen first.

I would pull up my old post, but its dropped off the bottom of the forum. I hope I'm not violating any rules of this forum by reposting.

Don't have a repair manual for this unit, so I'm not sure if the fluid has to be drained, or where to find the sump screen. Is it near the canister filter location under the cab?

The sump screen on the 5000 tractors is located below and to the side of the PTO shaft. Is only the steering acting up?

The steering is the worst, but the hydraulics at the hitch seem to be a little jerky too. Haven"t hooked anything up to the back of the tractor yet, but I can see the hitch sticking a little on its way up.

I see below and to the right of the PTO, there is a cover of some kind with two bolts, must be the screen. If I take that off, how much fluid will come out? All of it? If so, how many quarts? Just need to know how big of a catch pan I might need, and how much fluid I should buy.

Thanks.
