One of the best kept but well known secrets is the JD parts section hidden on the JD web site.
Item #29 should a complete new carb float.

It"s not the float, it"s the piece that holds the float in place. ie the casting.

Ahhhh.....a picture is worth a thousand words.
That is a dilemma.Done things like that myself.
It's a wild guess but Deere lists a complete carb for the 260/265 models ?
Perhaps the main body is the same/similar and the metering/linkages from the 245 carb could be transplanted?
