There is a restored A high crop with new tires for the same price. Not hard for me to choose if I had the cash.

hey,
if he wants that much for a 720, i'd hate to see what he would want for a Unstyled G or 530 or 430 Standard!

Having just looked at said tractor, for what is being asked, I would expect it to be an All fuel STANDARD, have the correct muffler and fenders (Those on it are for a 730), have dual hydraulics, PTO, full 3 point, and about 500 hours. A row crop 720 gas for that seems very pricey, since this was the common version of this tractor. My point on the fenders, I might add, yes a Standard would have the Standard fenders. The ones on this tractor are for a 730 row crop and are NOT CORRECT for a 720 row crop. see JD PC 532 and see for yourself.

If you went all out on a restoration, you could easily put $15,000 in a 720 gas. I agree, the flat-top fenders didnt come on the 20 series tractors but it is worth alot more with them than without, and it is worth more with them than with the original clamshell type. If anyone wants a good 720 gas, I have one, asking $4200.

516 or 1.14% of the total run of 45167 720's were gasoline standards.

But the one in the photo ad is not a standard.
It's a row crop with wide front. So your calculation needs to be done on gas row crops.

Got fooled, didn't clue in to the fact the tractor was on this site. Had assumed at that price it had to be a semi rare gas tractor standard returned to expo condition. Row crop tractors are a dime a dozen. That unit maybe worth $7500.00 US if it is as good inside as it looks outside.

Nice tractor but put on the money would probably
be a stretch to do half of that.

Henry.... $15,000 is only too high if nobody buys it. If it sells for that more power to the seller !!!!! ! :-)

Hey T. B. You have got it right, but didn't spell it out plain and simple. If the guy can't sell it, then he asked too much. If it sells, then that is what it is worth to the buyer. Makes no difference what the "rail birds" think. When I hear people complaining about the rising cost of old tractors I ask them if they would like to improve the situation by selling me theirs for 50% of the going rate. Beleive it or not, I have not had anyone take me up on that deal!!

We might need a lawyer to figure this out.
