1847 john deere cast iron seat

you aren"t the first guy to get screwed thinking they were buying an original. that seat is about five years old and is worth about twenty dollars.

I have a friend in Old Town ,Fl. who has 5 of those seats on his counter stools in his kitchen. and they are remakes. Not old at all.

No such animal ever rolled out the doors of JD. Circa Mexico, China, and India origins.

I think the tip-off is that is has 1847 on it - why would a seat have a date on it ?? I've never seen an authentic seat for anything with one.

Has seen a few of these around, check and see which way the deer is jumping, always jumps to the left....Don c

It's worth nothing,there scam seats.In 1847 john
deere didn't make anything that used a seat.
Nothing special about that year either. How could you even set on one of those seats with the deer higher than the seat. You would have a deer
imprinted in your rear end by the end of the day.

If you don't have anything in it $20:00 would be a good price. If you have more than that in it try and get back what you have or use it for a conversation piece.

On any JD "deer" logo I've ever seen the "deer" is looking or jumping to the left.

This Chinese rip-off has been around for several years on eBay and at local sales. To avoid copyright infringement lawsuits the makers used 1847 in lieu of the well known and significant 1837 John Deere date and have the 4-legged "deer" jumping to the right instead of left.
