This is a picture of mine and I also have copies of the manuals post your email and I will send what info I have.

I'll try to post a few picture of my corn sheller in mostly original condition. The crank handle has been welded and the fan belt is missing. There is no evidence of ever having green paint on the metal parts. Just red paint on the wood with black stenciled printing. A few oil stains on the wood also, from nearly everyday use.

to wcs i took one of the covers off and found pink to red paint. the only thing diferent is the fly wheel. to pitalplace, my two holler is a lot diferent gears on handle side. fan belt on fly wheel side. my email is [email protected] would like more pictures from the orignal size off letters and the date. i think that they put two diferent fly wheels because yours has bolt holes for a pully. i do not have any manuals. would like to talk to you both. a freind of mine thinks i sould do them in oak and finish them, i'm an orignal as posible thank youfor all your help.

he wood is red on all John Deere shellers. The metal is green. The one at the John Deere Center appears to not have the wood painted and that is the way I left mine. The #2 had three different flywheels. 1915 for the first part # 4274C, the second was 1915 to 1925 part 4418C and the third was 1925 to 1931 and part #5617C.

The part catalog for the #1 is PC155 and the #2 is in the larger catalog No.60-C

I have had several of the John Deere sheller experts tell me that IH red is the same color as the red used by on the wood.

Concerning the size of the letters: the "J" is 2 and 5/8 inches tall and 1 and 3/4 inches wide which includes the crossbar on the top of the J. The "OHN" is 4 and 7/8 inches wide by 2 inches tall. The "D" is 2 and 5/8 inches tall and 1 and 1/2 inches wide. The "EERE" is 2 inches tall by 6 inches wide. Hope this helps. I might have to go get you an overall length, but that will be tomorrow hopefully.
The patent date isn't exactly readable...too faded...looks like DEC 2?, 1919, where the ? is unreadable.
