serial number tags

Is there anyone that makes JD serial number tags? I'm fixing up my rotary cutter and would like a new one.

I have read on here that you can get a replacement tag from JD, but that may only be for tractors. I believe they posted that they do not look like the original.

Does your old tag still "tell its story"? If the answer is "yes", I'd nurture it back to health to the degree I could and be happy with it. From my inputs, there is no short-cut to a new tag for anything - not from Deere! The angst isn't worth the effort. (PatB)
