Tires/Wheel Prices

I'm just looking for an acceptable ballpark answer here:

If I were to buy hubs, cast wheel centers, rims and almost new tires (12.4-38) from a parts seller/dealer/used equip dealer, what should I expect to pay? It is for a 1937 JD A, so that gives you an idea on the items here. I'm in central/north central IN.

Anybody have these items they are willing to sell?

Thanks

I would place a wanted ad in your local craigslist area under the farm and garden section.

I have priced tires lately and they are crazy. Try around $800 or more for the chinese/ugo brand and $1000 for a pair of firestones. I also paid $150 for a used JD cast wheel center 4 years ago so they probably went up too. I have not had to by a rim thankfully but you might try online at miller tire to get an idea. And hold on to your socks!!!

I forgot to add, I would be pulling the parts myself off of 3 different tractors. 2 tractors have a hub each, one stuck one has the centers, rims and new tires.

Your 37A has 10 spline axles, and 36 inch rims. Newer model A tractors have 12 and then 15 spline axles. You will need to find cast wheels made specifically for your 37 A. Expensive and hard to find.

Mine has 12 spline(if I can count right), and the hubs that I am pulling are off of Unstyled A's with 12 spline axles. I want to get away from the one piece hub/wheels. The hubs are the 6-bolt ones that fit the "regular(generic JD?)" cast center.

Your A must be later than Ser#. 460000. There was a change to 12 spline axle at that time. The correct size would still be 36". It will look like it's going downhill with 38". Good luck with the switch.
