What is the difference between an A and B

Size. Think of the A standing for adult, the B standing for baby, G for giant and D for daddy

Literature of the day described the B as "two-thirds" the size of an A in terms of both power and weight. (PatB)

Yes and they are cute too, I've been thinking they could be called the H "Handy" in that little riddle... 25 years ago or so my 8 year old son wanted a 3 wheeler to romp around on, I was dead against it, so I found a 1941 H in a fence row and bought it for $100 off of the old gentelman that owned it, I let my son do the transaction which amused the old man, We took it home (locked up of course) and put it in an old shed that we weren't useing much and I gave him a can of penatrateing oil and a hammer and a few whrenches showed him how to soak and tap on bolts to get them loose and let him alone with it for a few weeks, then we tore it on down and O/H and restored it, this became his transportation till he was 16, we still have it, now his son is going to us it. A lot of "good" can come from a project like that, and it can keep on giveing for years to come....

Tim - Thanks for sharing that beautiful story of life. Families that do things together have so much chance of a fuller life. Today's world is filled with distractions, many of them from the dark side! (PatB)

I agree Pat , thats why most country kids have better values, we live in a fast paced world now. I overheard a young woman complaining because her micro-wave oven was to slow,we have "fast food and fast phones, very few familys set down for a home cooked meal together, so then family's grow apart and this can turn into the begining of the end. I'm going to stop there, before I get up on my soap box :^)

Now I'm refering to a 1941 model, I believe the B was about 18 HP & the A was about 28 HP original.

Yes, and that figures to about 2/3 diference per modle, I never thought about this before, I'm wondering if mother Deere was useing this for an equation ?

An A replaces the work of 2 horses
An B replaces the work of 1 horse
An H replaces the work of a foundered Mule!

They are the same style tractor, A is the bigger brother of the B. Other than all the technical specs, it's like a B is a F150, A is a F250, & a G is a F350 pickup.
