I have a 4240 that I have restored. I have to put on a new injector pump and injectors. I was wondering if puting on a turbo kit was worth it and should i do anything to the injectors and pump along with the the turbo. Also have not had much luck with finding a turbo kit for it, any suggestions.

I have one here that we put a turbo on 12 years or so ago, I used 4430 stuff, and at the time I had a extra 4430 hood that we used and every thing matched up nice, we had the pump tweeked just a little, it has about 150 hp, it's not wild just nice to run ,it's a power shift open station, we use it a chore tractor and making hay, we ust to pull a 15 ft 750 drill with it, now we have a 30 ft. fold-up drill that works a 4960 hard.

Definately put a charger on it but not an mw kit as they are scrap. If you have to change out the pump throw the roosamster away and put a bosch a or p pump on it. More power, more eficient, starts easier.

Thats all true, but you will loose that nice low=end torque that they have, that was one of the reasons we liked the frisky 42's , when you throtle back to turn mowing or raking they picked back up nicer than a 44 would with the bosch pump, but you are right on more power after the fire is built.
