4020 cab? soundguard

I have seen pictures of 4020s with what looked liked soundguard cabs. Are these after market cabs that look like john deere cabs?
What is the difference between the cab on a 4020 and a 4320?
I like my 4020 but it is so loud I can not stand to drive it for very long. Heat, AC and a radio would be nice to have.
Is their anything I can do other than trading for a different tractor?

also the pre-cleaner is pretty much in the line of sight. would it be better to lower it or raise it?
thanks for all the help

It will not help with the heat or A/C but a WorkTunes headset (hearing protection headset with built-in radio) does wonders when I'm driving my 730D.

If your 4020 has a cab ,they are noisey, and so is a 4320 with a cab, by the time you fit a good sound-gard cab and the attinuator system, you can trade for a 4230,,the sound-gard cab's "quiet" features are more than skin deep,,if you want 'quiet' thats the way to go.

Sound guard cabs have been mounted on 4020. Its not a trivial task because of the great differences in the pedals and three point.

Its very much easier to trade for a newer tractor if you can't wear a headset, but I wear the most quieting headset I can buy and I get along. I do wish it was quieter, I liked hearing the birds sing as I worked in the field.

The couplers for the hydraulic pump are another noise source that can sound like exhaust noise and exhaust manifold leaks at the head or the heat valve can contribute to the noise heard.

Give that phone booth cab to somebody for a duck blind and buy yourself an umbrella for summer and a comfort cover or weather breaker for winter along with a John Deere muffler.

JD changed from the Stolper cab to Hinsen in 1971.They both were basically an enclosed rollguard with no sound deadening or interior. They looked nice and seemed great at the time but the rollguard acted like a tuning fork and is the first thing we remove most every time I sell one. They make some kits that help but not a great amount. If you need a cab the best and maybe cheapest is to go to a newer unit.

The hinson cabs aren't all that bad- yeah not a soundgard but still better then nothing- you GOTTA have one with A/C!!! The 4020/4320 cabs are the same BUT the 45/4620 5020/6030 cabs have a roll bar made of solid iron where the 40/4320's are hollow. The best place to start on these is to put rubber between the rollbar and axle, on the hollow ones drill a hole in the top and fill them with sand. Get a good interior kit in them and put a extra floor mat in them. I replaced a couple of steel lines that come up into the steering column with hydraulic hose's and that helped as well. I did this on my 4620. On the 4320 we have we did the soundgard conversion with out removeing the steering console BUT I've seen it done using the shifter and steering console of the soundgard- I would assume by the looks of it thats a job!!

Your tractor looks great!!!!!! Do you have somemore pictures? interior?
How big a job was it?
What tractor did the cab come off of? About how much did it cost?
Does your AC/Heat work?
thanks
