JD 50 Usefulness

How useful is a 50 today? I've found one that has a factory 3-point and I believe live PTO (the shaft is offset a little bit to the flywheel side. Just looking at pictures). It also has a 5-6 foot bush-hog on the back.

It looks like original paint, and sheetmetal is stated to be straight. Rear tires are unmatched but decent tread, fronts are getting worn. Asking $2500. I can't decide if that looks like a good deal. Significant other said I was crazy.

Any thoughts? Thanks

Still a pretty usable tractor and the price does not seem too out of line. They had around 30hp, maybe a bit more. With the 3-point hitch and live hydraulics and PTO, they were a lot more usable than earlier models.
 
If you ask significant other the answer will always be you're crazy!! Have a 51 g and she has a harp,,,string insturement...She says my tractor is useless..
I can't say a thing about the harp ...OR the 150$ a month she spends on lessons!! Still like my G though! Charles
 
in my opinion about the most useful 2500 u'll ever spend. not much u cant use it for! thats a good price too if no major problems. very easy on fuel too.
 
the bush hog is worht what 750.00. so that makes the tractor a good buy. if you don't know much about the jd's carry somebody with you to look at it with you. carry cash. its a good buy any way you look at it.
